Chrysalis is an intentional community in a semi-urban
setting. We are committed to helping create a sustainable, violence-free
culture through honesty, intimacy, compassion, freedom of choice in
interpersonal and sexual relationships, ecological sensitivity,
transparency and the power of community. Social change and personal healing
and growth are central to Chrysalis.
Some visionary communities focus on the life, work, and
activities of the community itself -- creating, in effect, a utopian
island; other communities are active in the world, often following a
charismatic leader or running group projects by consensus.
At Chrysalis, each person is empowered to take
initiative and create their own projects, healing the society while
building a supportive web of intimate relationships that nurture personal
growth and happiness.
